I am writing to express my interest in being considered for a position as a Member of the Executive Committee (ExCo) of ENEA. My name is Anna Angelousi, and I am an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in the First Department of Internal Medicine at Laikon General Hospital in Athens, Greece. I am also Coordinator of the Rare Adrenal Diseases Center at Laikon Hospital.
My main clinical and research interests focus on hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal and neuroendocrine disorders. I am the principal investigator and coordinator of two ENSAT clinical studies on mild autonomous cortisol secretion (MOMACS study) and silent pheochromocytomas. I actively participate in numerous international congresses, presenting work related to adrenal and pituitary diseases. To date, I have authored 105 PubMed-indexed publications, with 3,134 citations and an h-index of 32.
I believe that my enthusiasm, diligence, and strong work would allow me to contribute effectively to ENEA as a member of the Executive Committee.

I am an endocrinologist and Pituitary Unit Coordinator at Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron (Barcelona,Spain), with a clinical and research focus on neuroendocrinology, particularly pituitary tumors,acromegaly, pituitary apoplexy, and hypothalamic disorders. I currently serve as a member of theExecutive Committee of SEEN and have been actively involved in national and international collaborativeinitiatives, including ENDO-ERN and ENEA-related activities.

I am writing to express my strong interest in becoming a member of the Executive Committee of ENEA. I am a medical doctor and Senior Consultant in Endocrinology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. Since my early years as a medical student, research, international collaboration, and academic engagement have been central to my professional development. I strongly believe in the importance of creating international scientific networks that promote education, research, and collaboration among endocrinologists across Europe.
My primary research focus is on cardiovascular and metabolic outcomes in patients with pituitary tumors. I currently lead nationwide and multicenter projects aimed at improving the management and long-term outcomes of patients with acromegaly and diabetes (the DEAM study), and I am principal supervisor of a PhD student dedicated to this project.
I am the author of more than 60 scientific publications in international journals (H-index 28, Scopus February 2026) and have co-authored several international consensus papers. I regularly present my research at major international meetings, including the European Congress of Endocrinology and the International Pituitary Society. I actively participate in international collaborative initiatives and am a member of the Pituitary Study Group within ENDO-ERN (European Reference Network for Rare Endocrine Conditions).
Alongside my scientific activities, I am deeply committed to mentorship, education, and professional networking. I currently serve as Deputy Co-Lead of European Women in Endocrinology (EUWIN), a committee of the European Society of Endocrinology dedicated to supporting and advancing women in endocrinology.
Holding both Italian and Swedish citizenship, I have actively promoted scientific collaboration between Italy and Sweden. I founded the Swedish-Italian Network for Advanced Partnership in Science and Education (SINAPSE), the first association of Italian researchers in Sweden, which has received institutional endorsement from the Italian Embassy in Sweden.
I would be honored to contribute to the activities and future development of ENEA, supporting its mission of fostering scientific excellence, collaboration, education, and networking within the endocrine community.

I am writing to express my interest in serving ENEA as Executive Committee member.
I am a basic scientist working at the Hospital of the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich (Germany). My research focuses on pituitary diseases, particularly the pathogenesis of pituitary tumours. I am also interested in the identification of novel biological markers that can support clinical decision-making for the management of patients with pituitary tumours.
I have been an ENEA member since 2016. From 2016 to 2022, I served as a member of the ENEA Young Research Committee (EYRC). I also served as the EYRC representative on the ENEA Executive Committee from 2018 to 2022. During those years, I was actively involved in the organization of scientific activities and resources for early-career members. In addition, I served as a programme organising committee member for the 20th ENEA Congress in Lyon (France) and as a local organising committee (LOC) member for the 8th ENEA Workshop in Munich (Germany). I am also active in other scientific societies, including the European Society of Endocrinology, where I have been a member of the Focus Area “Pituitary and Neuroendocrinology” Expert Panel from 2022 to 2026.
I am motivated to serve ENEA again. I have always valued ENEA as a very dynamic scientific network that supports ongoing exchange between basic and clinical research. If appointed, I would aim to contribute to strengthening this exchange. I believe that my prior experience is a proof of my commitment to our association and provides insights to support the Executive Committee in addressing future challenges.

Dear ENEA members,
I am an internationally trained, board-certified endocrinologist and clinician-scientist, with a clinical and translational research profile focused on pituitary tumors. ENEA has played an important role in my professional development and in my commitment to neuroendocrinology. I first became involved through the ENEA Young Researchers Committee (EYRC), where I have served as board member and, since 2022, as EYRC representative in the ENEA Executive Committee. This experience has shown me the importance of strong two-way communication between early-career members and the Executive Committee, and the value of continuity between ENEA congresses, workshops, study groups, educational activities and collaborative research initiatives. I have also contributed as a member of the Program Organizing Committee for the ENEA Congresses 2024 and 2026, as moderator and jury member during ENEA congresses and workshops, as co-editor of the EYRC book on hypopituitarism, and as board member of the ENEA study group on Aggressive Pituitary Tumors.
Over these years, my commitment to ENEA has only grown. I would be honored to continue serving the society as a member of the Executive Committee for the 2026–2030 mandate. I would bring to this role the perspective of a clinician-scientist trained across several European systems, already actively engaged in ENEA’s structures, and strongly committed to collaborative, translational and inclusive neuroendocrinology.
If elected, my top three priorities would be:
1. To strengthen ENEA’s visibility and communication, particularly through LinkedIn and the ENEA website, in order to better promote the society’s activities and increase member engagement.
2. To promote clinical practice surveys across ENEA study groups, so that members from all countries can contribute to ENEA-led collaborative projects and publications, regardless of their local research infrastructure. Such surveys could help identify gaps between international guidelines and real-world practice across different healthcare systems, providing evidence for future recommendations, educational initiatives and advocacy.
3. To establish a Women in Neuroendocrinology group, with a dual objective: to support the visibility, participation and professional development of women within ENEA, and to foster greater awareness of sex-related differences in pituitary and neuroendocrine diseases.

Dear colleagues,
Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the elections for a regular member of the ENEA executive committee for the period 2026 – 2030. I have decided to apply to continue and expand my participation in ENEA and promote neuroendocrinology among clinicians and researchers in the Balkans and the Central and Eastern European region. With the opportunity to be a member of the ENEA Executive Committee, I could contribute more to the ongoing initiatives and the development of new ones within ENEA. Wider involvement of young researchers and clinicians in ENEA activities would be one of my main goals. With this position in ENEA, I would support greater visibility and presence of the CEE region and the Balkans in the field of neuroendocrinology. It could improve the cooperation of neuroendocrinologists between countries of Western and Eastern Europe, easier collaboration in their work and future publications.
As a long-time member of ENEA, I actively participated in its workshops and congresses. My main fields of interest include hypopituitarism, transition from childhood to adulthood in patients with pituitary diseases, pituitary tumors, innovative therapy of acromegaly and Cushing syndrome, long-term endocrine and metabolic consequences of childhood cancer survivors in adults. I am active participant in two ENEA studies: Hypopituitarism ENEA – Rare Observational Study (HEROS study) and Resistant Prolactinoma Study, as well as the new ENEA studies that were started this year.
If I have the opportunity to be a member of the ENEA Executive Committee, I will fully dedicate myself to promoting collaboration between all participants in the field of neuroendocrinology and improving patient care.

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
With great interest, I’ve received the communication that ENEA is recruiting new ExCo members this year.
I am a Portuguese endocrinologist who completed his residency at the Endocrine department in Portuguese Institute of Oncology in Lisbon (2011-2016) and then, following my passion for research and academia in Pituitary and Neuroendocrinology, moved to London to undertake a PhD at Prof. Korbonits’ lab, while remaining the clinical practise at Barts Hospital overseeing complex patients with pituitary and neuroendocrine tumors. Then, I moved to Lisbon to work in Hospital Santa Maria (Endo-ERN), as an endocrinologist dedicated to pituitary diseases, and as a clinical and basic researcher after setting my lab to continue my research in the pituitary tumor microenvironment.
More recently, I moved to CUF Descobertas Hospital (Lisbon), where I am the Head of the Pituitary Tumor Unit, and accepted the invitation to become an assistant professor, researcher and co-principal investigator at Universidade Católica Portuguesa. I also work for the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) as Scientific Programmes Project Manager, I am the vice-president of the Portuguese Endocrine Society (2024-2027), I am a member of Transversal Working Group Genomic Testing Endo-ERN, and until recently I served as a proud Board Member of the ENEA Young Researchers Committee (EYRC).

In summary, I truly believe that my previous professional experience in different settings (clinical, research, academia, international associations/organisations) and in different countries (Portugal, UK, Netherlands, Malta, Hungary), as well as my interest and dedication to the field of pituitary and neuroendocrinology over the last decade in both clinical, basic science and translational dimensions, makes me a good asset for ENEA and prepared me to assume functions in the ENEA Executive Committee.

I am writing to express my strong interest in serving as a member of the Executive Committee of the European Neuroendocrine Association (ENEA).
I am a full Professor of Endocrinology at Aix-Marseille University, France, and a practicing endocrinologist with a long-standing academic and clinical interest in neuroendocrinology. Throughout my career, I have focused on pituitary disorders, with particular expertise in acromegaly and craniopharyngioma. While working in the national referral center for rare pituitary disease (CRMR HYPO), my research and clinical activities have been driven by the goal of improving patient care through multidisciplinary collaboration and clinical research.
One of my major recent contributions has been coordinating the French national consensus on the management of craniopharyngioma, published in 2023. This experience strengthened my ability to bring together experts from different disciplines, build consensus, and translate scientific evidence into practical recommendations that benefit both clinicians and patients.
As a clinician-scientist and educator, I am committed to promoting excellence in research, education, and patient care. I strongly believe that scientific societies such as ENEA play a crucial role in fostering collaboration across Europe, supporting early-career investigators, and facilitating the dissemination of high-quality scientific knowledge. I would be honored to contribute to these missions as a member of the Executive Committee.
If elected, I would actively support ENEA’s initiatives to strengthen scientific exchanges, encourage multidisciplinary and international collaborations, and increase opportunities for education and mentorship within the neuroendocrine community. I am delighted to submit my candidacy for the position of President-Elect of the European Neuroendocrine Association (ENEA).
ENEA has been an important part of my professional life for more than twenty years. Since becoming a member in 2004 and later serving on the Executive Committee from 2016 to 2020, I have had the privilege of working alongside outstanding colleagues who have contributed to making ENEA one of the leading scientific communities in neuroendocrinology. These experiences have shaped my vision of what a scientific society should be: a place where excellent science, education, collaboration and friendship come together to advance our field.
Neuroendocrinology is evolving rapidly. Scientific discoveries, technological innovation and increasingly multidisciplinary care are changing the way we understand and manage our patients. At the same time, our community is expanding, bringing together clinicians, basic scientists and translisciplinary researchers with complementary expertise. I believe ENEA has a unique opportunity—and a responsibility—to lead this evolution by promoting scientific excellence while preserving the collaborative spirit that has always distinguished our Association.
If elected, my priority will be to further strengthen ENEA as the European reference community for neuroendocrinology. I would work to expand collaborative research initiatives, encourage multicentre projects, support high-quality educational programmes, and reinforce partnerships with other international scientific societies. Equally important, I would like ENEA to become an even stronger home for the next generation of neuroendocrinologists. Our young colleagues are not simply the future of our Association—they are already shaping its present, and they deserve opportunities to participate actively in its scientific and organizational life.
Having served in several national and international scientific societies, I have learned that lasting progress is achieved through teamwork rather than individual leadership. Building consensus, listening to different perspectives, and creating opportunities for collaboration are, in my view, the foundations of a successful scientific society. If given the opportunity to serve as President-Elect, I would bring this collaborative approach to every aspect of my work for ENEA.
Throughout my career, my clinical practice, research activities and educational commitment have always shared the same objective: improving the care of patients with neuroendocrine diseases. This principle would continue to guide my work within ENEA. Scientific excellence is our strength, but its true value lies in its ability to improve patients’ lives through better knowledge, better education and better clinical practice.
ENEA has grown remarkably over the past years thanks to the vision and dedication of its Presidents, Executive Committees and members. My ambition is not to change what already works well, but to build on these strong foundations, helping our Association become even more visible, influential and attractive to clinicians, scientists and young investigators across Europe and beyond.
