New challenges, New opportunities for a New team

It was with the greatest pleasure that I started my term as President of ENEA at the Seville meeting this autumn.

It’s now time to thank those outgoing members of the last mandate, especially Professor Albert Beckers for his exceptional commitment to the growth of ENEA, and also to Andrea Isidori, Gerald Raverot and Niki Kiravitaki, as well as to congratulate Raul Luque, Afonso Soto, Manuel Gahete and their entire team on the success of Sevilla 2024.

We start this mandate in a geopolitical scenario that can only be described as complex. Europe is experiencing a certain degree of uncertainty, which will have repercussions in terms of support from the pharmaceutical industry and the cost of holding future events. It will certainly be challenging to take the step towards achieving greater participation by all ENEA’s members.

At the same time, new opportunities that emerged as a result of the Pandemic, which later became established during the following years, thus enabling us to now look forward to the possibility of new achievements.

I would remind you of the two all-important innovative initiatives that were first presented in our team’s manifesto for the elections. The first is to create Study Groups, whose operating norms have already approved, and which will serve as the basis for the ongoing work of all the members during the intervals of the year’s meeting. The second is the creation of Pituitary Centres of Excellence to be located anywhere around the world, whose objectives our task force is working on.

It is satisfying that the new Executive Board and EYRC include very dynamic young people, full of inspiring ideas, as recognised in this renewed Newsletter.

From 3rd to 5th of December of next year we will meet in Marseille Workshop. See you there.
